About the event
Nikki's Gaani is one of the biggest traditional celebrations in Benin.
Every year, the Baatonu and Boo peoples gather around their kings and dignitaries to honor the cultural and spiritual heritage of the imperial city.
Sacred drums, ancestral rituals, royal parades and unique ceremonies: a cultural immersion you won't find anywhere else.
📅 Friday, September 5, 2025 – Solemn release of the sacred drums.
📅 Saturday, September 6, 2025 – Ritual journey and presentation of kings and dignitaries.
📅 Sunday, September 7, 2025 – Kayessi Celebration: allegiances and ritual of shaving princes.
